The high point of the day? An irritating essential? Best consumed in capsule form?
Whatever one’s feelings on breakfast generally, whilst travelling it’s a whole other kettle of fish. (And sometimes it is in fact a kettle of fish). Options are more restricted, especially in B&Bs. Ideally, it should offer a glimpse into local customs . . . more frequently, it’s the sad result of demands from previous western travellers. Sometimes it’s a culinary goldmine. And occasionally, it’s just a bit grim (I’m looking at you, Trans-Siberian pot noodle).
I’ve been photographing my breakfasts as I travel across a section of the globe, and I’ll continue updating as we go. Hover over each picture for a description, and click to enlarge.
